Advanced hydration support

This is an electrolyte formula designed for heat, work, travel, and those days when your horse sweats like it’s their job. It replaces key salts, and adds supportive nutrients you rarely see in standard electrolyte tubs.

Electrolyte replenishment is only effective when it replaces what’s lost in sweat and the horse has free access to water. This formula provides sodium and potassium support alongside chloride, plus magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus. It also includes B vitamins, vitamin C, taurine, and glycine to support general recovery and normal metabolic function during training and stress periods. Fulvic minerals are included as a rare addition in equine electrolyte blends, used as trace-support compounds aimed at absorption and utilisation. Apple flavouring improves palatability and helps it mix well into damp feed.

Feeding Guide

Small Pony: 10–25 g per day
Average Horse: 30 g per day
Large Warmblood: 45 g per day

Directions

Mix dose with a forage-based feed (e.g., chaff, beet pulp, soaked cubes). Moisten slightly if needed to prevent powder loss. Feed at a consistent time, ideally post-exercise or during peak heat/stress periods. Ensure unlimited access to clean, fresh water at all times.

Important

Hydration support is most effective when paired with water intake. Never provide electrolytes without free access to water.

Free standard shipping on all orders over $100. Orders are processed within 24 hours and typically arrive within 3-5 business days.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all products. If you're not completely satisfied, return the unused portion for a full refund

Do I give electrolytes before or after work?

Most owners use post-exercise, and during hot days or travel. The main rule is water must be available.

Can I feed daily?

Yes, during periods of heat, work, sweating, or travel. Adjust back when conditions normalise.

Why is water so important?

Electrolytes pull water into the hydration process. If water isn’t available, you’re pushing the wrong button.

Can I add it to drinking water?

Some horses refuse flavoured water. Mixing into a damp feed is usually more reliable.

What makes this different?

The supportive add-ons (B vitamins, vitamin C, taurine, glycine) plus fulvic minerals, on top of the core sweat salts.

My horse is picky, what do I do?

Start with a smaller amount, mix into a small damp feed, and build up. Apple flavour helps.

The Dr. Kirks legacy

Dr Kirks Equus was built for people who live in the real world of horses, not the brochure version. Our family has been in the horse industry since the 1970s. When you spend decades around horses, you learn what holds up over time, and what’s just noise.

Over time, one truth kept repeating itself: most “supplements” are either under-dosed, over-hyped, or built more for labels than for horses. We wanted a different standard, one that respects biology, real-world workloads, and the people paying the bill.

Our formulations are guided by qualified equine nutrition education and developed with experienced formulators, including doctors who have helped create some of Australia’s most trusted supplements. We focus on ingredient quality, sensible inclusion rates, and formulas that make practical sense, not marketing sense.
